Japanese Band Introduction - Galneryus

Vocal: Yama-B
Guitar: Syu
Keyboard: Yuhki
Bass: Yu-To
Drums: Satoh
This has to got be the only music post to have made me struggle and suffer minor headaches. It’s not that the write up on this was hard, but because I unexpectedly found it difficult to pick out three songs as samples when all of them sound so great. Other reason includes the fact that I was stuck in the dilemma of wanting upload both a particular insert showing off Yama-B’s slightly opera-style singing, and a song called Everlasting which is one of their few songs written in Japanese lyrics. Eventually did made the painful decision of taking out the latter from the samples list. Instead, I decided to just link to the promotional video for Everlasting, which shouldn’t be missed out on as it’s a completely new experience from the usual songs. Yama-B just sounds much smoother in Japanese.
Normally I’m not a big fan of power metal, but Galneryus is the type band that seems to grow on you over time. Even though I haven’t considered myself much of a fan in the past, I’ve been spending quite of a bit of hours watching video’s of their live performances (they actually sound much better in them) and Syu’s demonstration video’s upon the release of their new album just a month ago. Although I haven’t noticed it much before since most of the music isn’t heavy to my usual taste, Galneryus can get quite technical without even losing the melody. Their recent solo’s like from New Legend is also quite new to me as a three part solo (moving from bass, keyboard, to guitar in order) is very unusual to hear. And as if I haven’t been praising them enough, here’s a second video showing Syu and Yuhki’s solo from a live. Okay, time to go lie down. Feel another headache coming up from listening too much while trimming up the sample audio’s.

Woah music posts are coming quicker! I dunno, I’m not too big into power metal either so these guys are iffy for me. Maybe I’ll try to check out some more of their stuff anyways. :P
This time was an exception, but I try to stick in a music for every three anime-related posts. Won’t be able call this an anime blog if I spam too much music, right?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find more music. Metal seems to be the only category that is very slowly building up in my collection, but rock has sadly remained unchanged all this time. Hopefully I can see to buying some albums by Hi-Standard and a couple others bands I found on J-music Ignited after I get my own card. At the moment, there are only twenty-three rock category bands to write up. Think it’s better to try to conserve them rather than posting them all at once and having none for later.
wow… i love the songs. will check them out more =P
