This is the kind of story that makes the player feel cheated. Even though this is supposed to be Kyou’s route, she only appears as much as a minor character. Bits for Kyou only surface at end; along with the happy ending. Of course, all of that isn’t saying much. The majority of this route is instead spent dating Ryou, who you end up dumping anyway. She’s like your stepping stone to Kyou. “Poor girl” is what I would normally follow-up with, but I know better as someone who played Kappei’s route beforehand. Ryou is one crazy girl. Stay away from her. It’s a wonder how Ryou did not attempt to midnight raid Tomoya, and make him take responsibility.

If you like Kyou though, refrain from holding Ctrl and read through it by all means. The ending is still worth it. Whether the story is boring is up for you to decide. It’s not like I have the right to slap people who prefer supernatural stories from Key. Also, another comment before calling it quits. Kyou’s route might have had a better result if more of the scenes involving her were made exclusive to her route. For example, the scene where Tomoya discovers Botan. That part occurs in practically any route you go through. By the time you decide to hit Kyou’s route, you have seen it over nine thousand times. Now it’s boring. As for the more uncommon ones, the laser tag one comes to mind. Kyou’s route has a flaw for lacking fun scenes so that could have given it vast improvements. For a better time, I would suggest hitting this route as soon as you can. Saving it for second-to-last like I did was a bad idea.
