Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (End)
An electrocardiogram graph. That is I would get if I were plot-and-line my ratings for individual episodes of Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de.
It would go UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN again.
If that was too dumbed down, I will rephrase it. Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de is basically an endless repetition between a boring episode and an amazing comeback episode. Balance it out, and you get a slightly above-average anime.
Let’s start with the DOWN. Even though I found the show fairly entertaining (despite the poor quality), it started to reveal serious drawbacks during the back-half of the season—most particular from around episode nine. The reason is what I assume to be a result of over-expending ideas. Like I feared, they pulled out way too many jokes and parodies during the earlier episodes; barely leaving any for later. Episodes nine through eleven were what I found to be all desperate attempts at keeping the show going. The parodies were no longer funny (Screw you. Nice Boat is NOT funny), and jokes were getting reused. To make it worse, this was when the producers actually try to create serious story for the show. Bad move. When you’re going for comedy, just go for comedy. Don’t mix anything else. Concentrate on the strengths that already exist.
Then we have the UP, and the last two episodes were perfect examples. First, ask this question. Just how many anime titles recover with a comeback ending? I say not a lot. In that, I find Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de impressive. The producers may have just been saving all the Shinra-centric episodes for the end, but a recovery is still a recovery. Good job on that. Too bad every episode didn’t revolve around Shinra. I would have given the show a solid B if the whole show was about Shinra teasing Ren. More of those overly-daring ecchi scenes (like the saliva strings if you would scroll down to the end) would have been more than welcome if we knew they were throwing in unfunny leftover jokes.
Guess what totali Ren did with them afterwards.
All we are missing is a shot of Shinra lighting a cigarette.
Poor fish. Is that you, Mambo?
I ask one last time. Are you absolutely sure this isn’t hentai?
They actually allow this on broadcast?
