Clannad - Shuriken and Starfish

Anime has been strange lately. I was never the type to eagerly listen to a soundtrack, but recent series have turned that into a pastime. In this case, Clannad is the third series to have me sitting and listening to its visual novel soundtrack, which is more or less same to what’s used in the anime. My only explanation for suddenly getting into them is because they help recall memorable scenes from a recent favorite; mainly involves looping Sora no Hikaru. Here’s what I mean by strange though. Normally, this would imply I have just become easier to please and thus more sensible to soundtracks. It makes sense too since anime deprivation from college housing made me less picky about what I watch. Any anime is welcome. However, interest in original soundtracks started back with episode fourteen of El Cazador de la Bruja. That was back in summer vacation before going off to college, so it turns out anime deprivation isn’t a factor for my sudden love for soundtracks. Unfortunately, there aren’t much other way to explain it. Either my tastes are changing or anime is slightly getting better.

Blood Stain Child - Mozaiq (Booklet Scans)

Today, I received a package from Amazon.com – Sony Rechargeable AAA 900 mAh NiMH Batteries and the European release of Blood Stain Child’s 2007 album. The latter, as it is obvious from the image, clearly had cracks on the front side of the CD case. I know, it happens. I am not offended by the damage on my product. CD cases are easily replaceable after all. However, I have a question. What happened to the good old bubble wraps? Why replace them with plastic airbags?

Myself; Yourself - I didn’t kidnap your daughter…

Myself; Yourself isn’t much at first. It comes with a pathetic production value, which includes below average art and frame reusing. The voice cast is also mediocre so some might even pop an eardrum listening to Aoi squeal like a maniac. Under normal circumstances, I would have dropped it by around episode three – except anime has been hard to come by lately. Living on campus heavily restricts my bandwidth for anime so every last drop of anime is worth it. In any case, I endured a couple episodes until Myself; Yourself somehow turned out to be worth the watch. Basically it’s not bad.

Night Wizard - One deus ex machina after another…

This show is just ridiculous, yet entertaining at the same time. First of all, the whole plot is just silly – collecting jewels. “Collect all the jewels to save the world” is only a storyline that should come out of a bad fantasy fiction from FictionPress.Com. What is it with mankind’s fascination for a stupid, shiny rock? I do not know. Too bad the show is only thirteen episodes and can’t pull off an Inuyasha. Simultaneously, Night Wizard is still enjoyable. Well, only if you stop taking it seriously, and try to note all the deus ex machina. Speaking of which, they made a brave move and acknowledged the existence of a hammerspace. Pretty convenient there. Now they don’t have to explain how they managed to set up a picnic halfway through the dungeon.
