Hori Real Arcade Pro 3

My arcade stick is finally here. Good-bye, anime…

…or so I might say. In the first place, there aren’t any anime series to wave bye-bye to. Most of the new shows haven’t been subbed (by decent fansub groups) yet, which leaves me sitting idle. I do have the first episode of kure-nai waiting for me, so that will be on queue. It depends on when I finish re-watching True Tears so I can do a final review on it.

Rental Magica - Adilisia Screenshot Collection

Rental Magica was quite possibly one of the lamest shows from its season. Think of it as Night Wizard’s replacement minus the unintentional comedy. If you haven’t seen Night Wizard, I can describe the series in another way too. Rental Magica has issues because it is neither good or bad. It’s not like Night Wizard, which was so bad that you can make jokes out it. Despite how much it sucked, Night Wizard had entertainment value in the same manner as Musashi Gundoh. On the other hand, Rental Magica is just average. Nothing to praise, and nothing to criticize.

So why the hell did I sit through twenty-four episodes of it? Read the title. I watched twenty-four episodes of a big-nothing show just to feed my ojou-sama fetish drool over, and fantasize about Adilisia. I certainly don’t consider it wasted time as Rental Magica (mysteriously) had above-average animation, which helped to produce worthy* fanservice shots. Normally I would ask why they wasted such level of animation on a show like this, but forget it. The beach episode wrongly justifies my reason not to. Why complain when I get eye candy?

*Good fanservice shot is rare. Look at these screenshots from Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de. The bodies are horribly drawn. Rental Magica on the other hand are… nosebleed.

Pictures of my waifu from this point.

Spring 2008 Watch List

Line-up of shows I will give a try when they air. To me, this is another convenient season though. Less worries about watching anime while back at the residential hall. The series for the upcoming season are a nightmare for guys. I swear more than half the shows this season are shoujo (the reverse harem kind) or boys love. Then there was this one show called Crystal Blaze. The trailer for it is indescribable. The studio thinks they’re creating a Hollywood film. Or as NovaJinx says, it must be Afro Samurai’s successor. In other words, don’t touch it.

Fate/Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works (Route)

Here’s a written post for a change of pace. Take it as an intermission to the comics pouring since yesterday. I wrote this on a whim, but my reason is probably more than that. Even though I enjoy making the comics, part of me as remains unsatisfied. Well, go blame it my style of blogging. Apparently it has dug deep in by now. I can’t rest in my grave unless I state an opinion. (At the least, write about how awesome Lancer was in this route.) No summaries. Summaries are too restraining. I am reminded why I intentionally avoided writing summaries—on top of the fact no one reads summaries. Anyway, on to my opinion-side (as shallow they may be) about Unlimited Blade Work. Like them or not, comics will resume after this.

Battle Moon Wars - Sprite Extracting

Why I had to particularly bring this up today is a long story. After playing Unlimited Blade Works, I was struck with this sudden idea to experiment with comics based on key events in it. The problem was drawing. This was going to be far complex than the four-panel comics I casually draw (from time to time). Then the solution? I figured the only way was to make use of sprites like the Velox comics. Of course, I do not have the time to draw my own sprites. That’s where my sudden impulse to use the sprites from Battle Moon Wars came in. Why not attempt to rip it?
