Profile
Nuclear Trance opened couple years ago with the intent to spread Japanese independent music to the anime community. Frankly, it is a hopeless goal. To ask an average anime fan to leave his or her niche is too demanding. That requires one to conjure magic—which I cannot. Nevertheless, I write to promote underground music. I enjoy reviewing bands, and it is wonderful to meet the few people who share my interest.
I am a South Korean, Computer Science undergraduate. Three words to describe myself are stubborn, honest, and quick-tempered. I strictly embrace nonconformity, and follow what I believe in. Furthermore, I dislike authority—mandatory is a nonexistent word in my word bank. Everyone should command their own life-style.
My first anime is either Mazinger Z or Dragon Ball. That is to say, I have cherished anime since childhood. I started to distinguish anime from cartoon after watching Digimon Adventure. Unfortunately, I did not have the resources to watch fansubs until late 2003. I currently make a habit out watching past series like Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Generally, I enjoy series with realistic settings—Nodame Cantabile, Yomigaeru Sora, etc.
I have been listening to Japanese independent music since late middle school. My favorite rock bands are Hawaiian6, and Tribal Chair. Both respectively belong to my preferred rock genres—punk rock, and alternative rock. Nowadays, I am into death metal with melody. My taste leans toward bands like Intestine Baalism. I ventured into European metal after listening to Blood Stain Child. I also listen to fripSide despite scorning other pop music.
